BloodSource provides Northern and Central California with lifesaving transfusion medicine expertise. In addition to serving on hospital transfusion committees, BloodSource physicians are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to offer transfusion-related consultation services and/or oversee therapeutic apheresis procedures. - Extensive experience in obstetrical, perinatal, and neonatal transfusion medicine cases, in addition to transfusion medicine cases involving all types of patients and manners of presentation.
- Expertise in helping hospitals determine appropriate indications for various autologous donation/transfusion processes.
- Provides lectures and other educational opportunities to hospital customers on any and all aspects of transfusion medicine/blood banking.
- Helps establish blood banks and blood testing operations in emerging and underdeveloped countries.
Patricia Kopko, MD

- Board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology with subspecialty certification in Blood Banking / Transfusion Medicine.
- Expertise and publication on Transfusion Related Acute Lung Injury (TRALI).
- Extensive experience in transfusion-related HIV transmission and leukocyte reduction of blood components.

- Lectures and presents to universities, hospitals and blood banking organizations.
- Active in community service organizations.
- Extensive experience in transfusion medicine cases, cryopreservation, tissue banking, hemapheresis, toxicology.
- Published case studies on pathology, and abstracts in transfusion medicine.
