For Immediate Release
December 22, 2014
Sacramento, CA –Local residents can begin the New Year by saving lives with BloodSource and KCRA 3 during the Blood Drive for Life at various locations on Friday, Jan. 2 and Saturday, Jan. 3. Since 2002, BloodSource and KCRA 3 have teamed up to collect over 6,500 pints of blood, equaling more than 19,500 lives saved.
Blood Drive for Life participants will receive a special-edition KCRA 3 T-shirt, MyBloodSource Rewards and one free ticket to the International Sportsmen’s Exposition in Sacramento (Jan. 8-11, 2015), while supplies last.
Residents can donate blood to help someone in need, such as Brennah Payne, who suffered terrible injuries in a car accident when she was just seven years old. Nine surgeries, many blood transfusions and great medical care helped her return to full health. Now in high school, Brennah encourages blood donation whenever she can.
