For Immediate Release
December 28, 2015
SACRAMENTO, CA – Start the New Year off right by saving lives with BloodSource and KCRA 3 during the Blood Drive for Life at two Sacramento-area locations on Friday, January 8 and Saturday, January 9. Since 2002, more than 9,000 participants have joined BloodSource and KCRA 3 in saving lives.
Blood Drive for Life participants will receive a special-edition KCRA 3 T-shirt, MyBloodSource Rewards and one free ticket to the International Sportsmen’s Exposition in Sacramento (Jan. 21-24), while supplies last. BloodSource will also offer a free Be The Match® marrow registry for those ages 18-44 years old – another way to save lives.
Participants can donate blood to help someone in need, such as Brennah Payne, who suffered terrible injuries in a car accident when she was just seven years old. Nine surgeries, many blood transfusions and great medical care helped her return to full health. Now off to college, Brennah encourages blood donation whenever she can.
KCRA 3 Blood Drive for Life Locations and Schedule:
Friday, January 8: 6:00am – 6:00pm
Saturday, January 9: 9:00am – 5:00pm
